Stuart, Florida, "Sailfish Capital of the World". A sportfishing club based on a legacy of conservation, education and comradery, the Stuart Sailfish Club will emphasize activities supporting the local marine industry.
The Stuart Sailfish Club was formed more than 70 years ago and incorporated in January of 1941 as a non-profit organization. It is one of the oldest sportfishing clubs in the United States, formed for the purpose of promoting the conservation of gamefish and encouraging visitors to fish in Martin County waters. To this day, these remain our primary goals. We attract visitors by sponsoring offshore fishing tournaments and then donate part of the proceeds to worthy conservation programs, conservation organizations, and marine industry and enviromental college scholarships.
